It's time once again for the Lower Lab School Read-A-Thon!

This is a great opportunity for our children to improve their reading skills over the summer, while helping our school at the same time!
 
All children who participate will receive a GOLD MEDAL, and will have their names entered in a drawing for a chance to win a $10.00 Barnes & Noble gift certificate awarded to one child in each class!  In order to qualify, your child must do two things:

•     Read a minimum of  5 books
•     Get at least 5 sponsors OR at least $25.00 in collected pledges

A sponsor may pledge a set dollar amount for every book read, or a total sum for the entire Read-A-Thon.  Please ask your friends and family to sponsor your child.

We ask that you use the attached sheets to keep track. Everything is due by September 26th. This includes pledge sheets, reading logs, and money. The awards ceremony will take place this fall in the auditorium.  Each participant will proudly walk up on stage to receive their medal.

The children may read on their own or with family and friends.  Listening to someone else read, in any language, or reading to someone else counts, too!  We ask that you encourage your children to read books that are appropriate for their grade and ability. 

We, as parents, hold high expectations for the quality of our children’s education.  By supporting their participation in our Read-A-Thon, we are funding programs for our school and helping our kids develop a life-long love of reading.  Plus, your children’s teachers will have the opportunity to see the books your children read over the summer.
